Our aim within the Computing department is to promote safe technology use among students, particularly in the online realm. We strive to instill a robust knowledge and awareness of the challenges presented by today's digital landscape, empowering students to confidently navigate and utilise the diverse technological resources at their disposal.

Our goal extends to preparing students for their future, offering them opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills essential for thriving in a dynamically evolving digital environment. Understanding and knowledge in ICT are increasingly vital for students’ futures, both in personal and professional contexts.

Our Computing curriculum is designed to develop skills progressively in digital literacy, computer science, information technology, and online safety. This approach ensures that students become adept at both using and understanding technology. We revisit these strands through various topics throughout their time in secondary school, reinforcing learning and skill development. Our aim is for Computing to not only provide students with technical skills but also to encourage them to embrace new challenges without fear of failure, and to confidently apply the skills learned in Computing to other academic subjects and life situations.
