Wellbeing

At The Gatwick School, student wellbeing is a core priority. Our highly skilled Pastoral, Safeguarding, and SEND Teams work closely together across all phases to provide comprehensive, coordinated support. As a Thought-Full school, we are proud to have two dedicated Mental Health Practitioners offering targeted 1:1 CBT, group sessions, and initiatives such as our Student Mental Health Ambassadors.

Our wellbeing provision also includes four Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSAs), a play therapist, and a school counsellor. We collaborate closely with the Dedicated Schools Team to support family wellbeing and resilience. All staff receive training to effectively support the emotional and mental health needs of our students.

Wellbeing is embedded throughout our PHSE and RSE curriculum and enhanced by external workshops and guest speakers. To further support students, families, and staff in accessing the right resources, we have created a comprehensive Wellbeing Directory, which can be found here: The Gatwick School's Wellbeing Directory.
