TGS Students Raise Over £5,000 in Youth Enterprise Challenge for St Catherine’s Hospice
This year, both our primary and secondary students proudly took part in the Youth Enterprise Project—a local initiative that challenges schools to compete in raising the most funds for St Catherine’s Hospice over a ten-week period. The project not only promoted entrepreneurial thinking but also encouraged students to work together in support of a cause that touches many lives in our local community.
As part of the project, students had the opportunity to visit St Catherine’s Hospice, where they saw firsthand the incredible work being done to support patients and their families. This experience deeply inspired them to go above and beyond in their fundraising efforts.
Throughout the ten weeks, students planned and delivered a wide range of creative and engaging fundraising activities. These included weekly cake sales, a Valentine’s pop-up shop, and themed events such as World Book Day. One of the highlights was a brilliantly organised quiz night, which even welcomed teachers from our partner school in Colorado, USA—bringing a truly international spirit to the event!
Thanks to the dedication, creativity, and teamwork of our students—and the generous support of our wider TGS family—we were thrilled to raise over £5,000 for St Catherine’s Hospice. We are also incredibly proud to share that our students won the ‘Best Presentation’ award on the celebration night, in recognition of their outstanding work and commitment throughout the challenge.
This project has not only raised vital funds but also helped our students develop essential life skills, including leadership, communication, and resilience. We look forward to continuing our partnership with St Catherine’s Hospice and are excited to see what we can achieve together in the years to come.
