World Book Day
This week we celebrated World Book Day on Thursday 7th March.
The children and staff dressed up as characters from their favourite books and they brought in books to share. The children really enjoyed talking about their costumes and we had some amazing home made characters too!
They also had time in the afternoon to work with an older year group to make something book related, and talk about stories. Some classes watched the BBC World Book Day Author’s Live Lesson where a range of authors read stories to the children and talked about what inspired them to write.
All the fun of dressing up and sharing reading helps children enjoy books and want to read, and alongside all of that we raised money for Book Aid to support children in hospitals to have access to books.
This weeks winners for top attendance of the week were:
EYFS and KS1: Peacocks with 98.7%
KS2: Meerkats with 98%
