Chinese New Year
We had a really busy week! On Tuesday we mixed our Reception and Key Stage one classes with the Key Stage two classes and they made Chinese fortune teller dragons and learnt about how Chinese New Year is celebrated. They worked really well in their mixed pairs and supported each other’s learning and engagement.
Online Safety Day
It was also Online safety day on Tuesday and we watched the BBC Newsround video on consent—this made children aware of the importance of deciding if they want to say yes or no to something, and how online they have to be more careful what they agree to. Children were all encouraged to always ask their grown ups if an online consent issue is ever raised.
Childrens Mental Health Week
t is also Children’s Mental Health Week this week and the children worked really well in classes thinking of ways they could improve their mental health. They discussed healthy eating, going outside and getting exercise, talking to people and even dancing as great ideas to support mental health.
Drop Off and Pick Up
Please make sure that your child is dropped off to school at an appropriate time.
If they attend breakfast club (at a charge), the drop off time for this is between 7.45am and 8.30am.
Children that are going onto the playground to wait for school to start can come in from 8.15am; before then they will require adult supervision, and are not allowed to wait unsupervised as it is dangerous for them.
At the end of your childs day, please ensure you arrive at the correct collection time, as delays in coming out of club is difficult for teachers to plan for, and our staggered day relies on parking being available for parents at the appropriate pick up time.
This weeks winners for top attendance of the week were:
EYFS and KS1: Crickets with 99%
KS2: Meerkats with 98.9%
