This week the majority of Year three went to Kingswood outdoor activity centre for a 2 night residential. It was the first residential at The Gatwick School and the children were fantastic. I have asked the children to write reports from their points of view to share with you, the experience through their eyes! I will update the newsletter with short reports and photos over the next few weeks.
From a teacher’s perspective the children were fantastically behaved and very brave, lots reached the top of leap of faith and high equilibrium, they built shelters in bush craft and swung on the 3G swing. We climbed and fenced, as well as having a campfire and a disco. They were commended by other teaching staff for being polite, and by their instructors for being supportive of each other. We are incredibly proud of them at such a young age, taking part so enthusiastically and even through the tiredness, remaining positive and happy. A huge thank you for all the time and preparation you put in from home, they were well prepared and everything labelled, and the send off and return were really positive!
Check back next week for a report from the children!
During assembly today we awarded the children for the tidiest rooms, most resilient sports man and tactful leaders. Well done everyone!
