Last Thursday some of the year four children went to Lille on a day trip. We took the children on a coach on the Euro Tunnel and then drove to the waffle factory where we learnt about how Flamband waffles were made. We went to the city and walked through the centre to the main Christmas Market and took photos and looked at all the festive decorations.
The braver of the group wanted to go on the (very high) wheel in the middle of the market from which they saw views of Lille for miles. After that they went into the markets and bought some interesting Christmas gifts, chocolate and donuts! The children walked over to the main shopping mall and took over the French version of McDonalds—Quick! Ordering children’s meals for 36 children who like different sauces and drinks and desserts proved exciting!
We then started our journey back, which was much quieter—they were extremely tired! The children had a great day and enjoyed buying presents for their families and tasting the waffles!
We are really proud of how they behaved and want to thank you all for your support, especially Ms Ronaldson, Mrs Bhundia, Miss Forsdick and Miss McGuffog for their help on the day!
Christmas Jumper Day
On Friday 14th December we are supporting Save the Children by wearing Christmas jumpers to school for a donation of £2 each. Children must only wear jumpers with their uniform—school trousers, shirts and shoes still apply. Thank you for your support.
