Back to school
I hope you have all had a restful break and enjoyed some time outside in the sun! Our Paragon events were really fun last term, thank you all for coming in to see our learning! We are looking forward to the busy term ahead, the children have worked hard in term one settling back into school and remembering routines and taking on the challenges of their new year groups. This term is always very busy, in the lead up to Christmas. The Friends of Gatwick School have organised a drop and shop evening to help you have a free evening whilst supporting the school! Their infamous raffle hampers will also be available in the last week of term. In the penultimate week of school we have the Reception Nativity, Key Stage one nativity and Key Stage two concert too—look out for your letters containing instructions for tickets. Next week, on Friday 9th November is an inset day for teacher training, and on Thursday 15th November we have our open day for new Reception children next year!
On Thursday 15th November we will be holding our annual Primary Phase Open Evening for prospective Reception students and for any other children applying for a place at The Gatwick School. The evening will run from 5.00pm to 7.00pm. This is an important event for us and we have taken the decision that our Primary Phase students (Reception, Year 1, 2, 3 + 4) will depart from school earlier, 2.10pm for Reception, 2.20pm for Year 1+2 and 2.30pm for Year 3+4. There will be no ‘Wrap Around’ for Primary Phase children on Thursday 15th November. Secondary Phase students (Year 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) will depart from school earlier at 3.50pm. The earlier departure of students will enable staff to prepare all classrooms and learning areas across the school, in order to showcase the excellent teaching and learning that takes place in our school.
On Friday 16th November, both Secondary and Primary Phase students will commence the day on their usual start timings.
