I would first like to start by saying how excited I am to be working with your child(ren) this year while working towards their Dance GCSE. Dance is a subject very close to my heart. It is a subject that I am very passionate about.
Unlike other subjects, the uniform has a great impact on both the dancer and the work they produce. Not only does it streamline the professionalism within the dance studio, it also promotes student self-discipline and encourages safe dance practice.
Please join me in keeping your child(ren) at a lower risk of injury by enforcing our uniform rule outside of school. Making sure uniform is washed and ready for the week to come.
This uniform is a strict requirement from the dance examining board. Your child(ren) will be wearing our dance uniform for their practical exams. It is therefore paramount that uniform is worn every lesson.
Each student MUST wear the following uniform at every dance lesson without fail.
Required Dance Uniform:
- Plain black leotard/tight fitted vest
- Plain black dance/cycling shorts
- Plain black footless tights/leggings/joggers
- NO SOCKS/footwear
- NO jewellery/accessories
If your child fails to bring their correct dance uniform, they will be expected to wear spare dance uniform that’s kept at school. Rest assured that this uniform will be washed weekly. If a student refuses to wear the supplied uniform, it will result in referrals from refusal.
On the occasions that a note is supplied regarding uniform/injury/illness, I will ring parent/guardian to gain further understanding and see If I can provide further support.
If you are having trouble purchasing and funding dance uniform, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do my best to help you. Any further question regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Uniform Rule will be in effect by Monday 17th September 2018.
